Stark County Republicans http://stark.weareillinois.org Stark County Republicans en-us The Truth about the Republican House of Representatives
I am sure you are getting real tired of Obama and the Democrats painting the House Republicans as a do nothing always say NO group. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here is some ammunition when doing battle with the misguided, uninformed, and ignorant critics of the Republican controlled House. Start with this link:

http://www.majorityleader.gov/JobsTracker

The above link lists 30 or so jobs bills the House has passed, the vast majority of which are waiting further action in the Senate. Outside of repealing onerous Obama regulations which will hurt business and limit credit, the House GOP has also passed legislation to increase domestic energy jobs and exploration (to ultimately help reduce the price of gas) and also a budget which takes on our crushing debt which even the President’s own economic experts say is having a 1% drag on our GDP which means a loss of 1 million jobs. The House passed a budget this year which gets us on a path to prosperity and eases business nervousness to invest in the U.S….the Senate hasn’t passed a budget in over 1000 Days!!!

In total there are over 130 pieces of legislation which have passed the House and are sitting idle in the Senate. So which is the do nothing say NO chamber???? The Republican House or the Democrat Harry Reid lead Senate?????
The election of Mark Kirk to the Senate to take back Obama’s old Senate seat was huge! While it has been next to impossible to get Republican House passed legislation acted on in the Senate, Sen. Kirk and the other Senate Republicans have slammed the brakes on any further damage by Obama and his allies in the Senate.

Our own Congressman Aaron Schock has taken a leadership position in the House on many issues. His selection by House leadership to serve on the powerful Ways & Means Committee in just his second term is a huge benefit to our District , and the Illinois Republican caucus.

Some key legislative initiatives Congressman Schock has been part of include (but not limited to):

• Helped get signed into law legislation that provides tax credits for business to hire unemployed Veterans.
• Authored, passed, & incorporated H.R. 606 into S. 365 to establish a Commission to reduce government spending.
• Congressman Schock has been a forceful and consistent proponent of free trade and the reduction U.S. Tariffs and other impediments to trade.
• Worked to extend tax preferences for biodiesel. The biodiesel industry supports 23,000 jobs
• Strong advocate for a new and comprehensive Highway reauthorization bill
• Authored legislation to allow Rural Health Clinics to compete for federal Health Information Technology support to help these businesses grow at the same rate as their larger hospital counterparts.
• Signed onto a letter with over 30 members demanding the National Labor Relations Board stop its regulation assault on small businesses(succeeded in getting the NLRB to repeal a mandate requiring posting of unionization procedures).
• Authored the Creating American Prosperity through Preservation Act of 2011. That bill strengthens the Historic Preservation tax credit and makes it more beneficial for projects like the Warehouse district in Peoria. In 2009 and 2010, historic rehabilitation created over 145,000 new jobs.

I think we can be very proud of the Republican House working hard to do exactly what they were elected to do. It is the Harry Reid Democrat Senate that has held our country hostage on behalf of the worst President in American history, Barak Obama!. Nothing is more important than making sure our Republican Illinois Congressional delegation stays in the majority in Illinois. It would have been hard for the democrats to have drawn a worse map. But now we have to win again with the hand we have been dealt.

Regardless of who our Presidential nominee is, it is clear Comrade Obama is going to paint the House Republicans as putting the brakes on his socialist hope and change agenda. He will paint them as angry Tea Party puppets. He has nothing positive to run for reelection on, so he has to resort to negativity, stoking up class warfare rhetoric , and his tax the rich wealth redistribution mantra. Thank GOD for the Republican House. If we win the Senate and the Oval office we will be able to return America to prosperity, progress, growth, and greatness. American exceptionalism cannot be held down for long! The American people know we deserve better than what we have in the White House now.

Mike Bigger
